One price, based on your number of active students

What counts as an active student?

A student is active if they had at least one activity in the last 90 days — present or late at a class, a recorded dues payment, or a curriculum item learned or validated — or if their record is less than 90 days old. An excused absence does not count as a visit. The count is automatic and visible in the app, screen by screen, so you never have to keep track of it yourself.

The three plans

Amounts are in Canadian dollars, taxes included. They are the same for every school: only your size matters. The yearly price is the one shown by default; monthly stays available, at the same guaranteed rate.

• Small schools: $0, up to 25 active students, every feature.
• Founder price: $149 per year or $14.99 per month, locked for life, for the first 25 paying schools.
• Regular price: $249 per year or $24.99 per month, taxes included.

Yearly or monthly

The yearly subscription gives about two months free: $149 instead of $179.88 at the founder rate, $249 instead of $299.88 at the regular rate. It is paid once a year, which makes the year's budget known in advance. Monthly stays available, at no extra cost: you can switch between the two whenever you like, and the founder rate, if it applies to your school, does not change either way.

Why a flat rate

Our rate does not depend on the number of students. A school with 30 students and a school with 300 pay the same amount. Tools priced per student push the bill up with every enrolment: do the maths with the rate of your current tool, multiply it by your number of students. That is the only figure that counts, and it comes from you.

What happens above 25 active students

A school is never shown the door overnight. Two monthly measurements in a row above the threshold trigger a notice; you then have 30 days before the first payment. If the school drops back to 25 active students or fewer during that period, the notice is cancelled and everything starts over. A school crossing the threshold is warned in advance, and the number of active students stays visible in the app.

Included at every size

There is no stripped-down plan: the same app serves everyone. What changes with the price is the number of active students, nothing else. A full export of your data stays available at any time, including if you decide to leave.

What the app does not do

Martialnote does not collect your students' money. It tracks due dates, the payments you confirm and the balances, but transfers and cash stay in your hands, as they do today. The Martialnote subscription itself, however, is paid online by card, on our payment provider's secure payment page.
