A dues spreadsheet has to be maintained by hand, and an error hides there quickly. Martialnote works out the due dates, keeps the payment history and shows arrears at a glance — without ever touching the money.
What the app tracks
For each subscribed student, the app keeps the due dates for the subscription type, the payments you confirm, the resulting balance and the date from which arrears are open. An advance payment covers the following periods; a credit stays visible. The family rate, once you set it, is applied to the calculation.
- Monthly, per session or class card.
- Due dates, payments, balance and credit.
- Subscription pause, with or without a resume date.
- Family rate applied automatically.
What the app does not do
No card goes through Martialnote. You keep collecting as you do today — transfer, cash, cheque — and you simply confirm the payment received, with its method and date. This separation is deliberate: it avoids transaction fees, refunds to manage and holding card numbers.
See arrears without hunting for them
The dues screen gathers what needs a decision: what is to be settled, what is late, what is paused. The total in arrears is shown at the top, and each row leads to the student. Groups keep their own trace too: a student absent three weeks in a row and a student late with payment are two different signals, visible in the same place.
Questions
Can the app collect dues?
No, and it is not planned. Transfers and cash stay in your hands; the app only tracks what is owed and what is received.
Can I give a family a discount?
Yes: the family rate is set in the settings, and the due date calculation takes it into account.
What if a student pays three months ahead?
The payment covers the following periods; the balance becomes a credit, visible on their record.
