Martialnote

Help

Screen: Help (/help), in the menu. Who: owner and instructor. The same content is published on the website, without signing in: martialnote.com/en/help (in French: martialnote.com/aide).

Asking the assistant a question

At the top of the Help screen: an artificial intelligence assistant answers in plain language, from this user guide only.

  1. Type the question in the Your question field (500 characters at most), then tap Ask.
  2. The answer appears, followed by its Sources: the help pages it relies on. The sources are what counts; open them when in doubt.
  3. To be more specific, type a Follow-up question: the assistant takes the conversation into account. A conversation keeps at most 6 exchanges; then tap New question.
  4. If the answer doesn't help, tap That doesn't help: an email to support opens, with the question. Read it, remove any information about a student, then send it. When the assistant can't find the answer, it says so and this button comes first.

Rules:

  • Limit: 20 questions per school over the last 24 hours, or 5 during a new school's trial period. The count is shared by the owner and instructors; a question that failed counts too. The number left is shown under the field. The search, further down, has no limit.
  • The assistant sees no data from the school (no student, group, payment or account) and cannot change anything: it explains how to do things.
  • It answers in the app's language (French or English), and only questions about using Martialnote.
  • Nothing is kept: neither the question nor the answer. The conversation disappears when you leave the screen or tap New question. The question is sent to OpenRouter and to the model's provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer: don't put any information about a student in it.
  • The assistant stays available to a read-only school (payment overdue).
  • The Martialnote team can switch it off: it no longer appears at the top of the screen, and the search remains available. Possible messages: see the error pages helpAskDisabled, helpAskLimit, helpAskNoCredit and helpAskFailed.

What you'll find

  • Features: one article per feature of the app, step by step, with its rules and limits.
  • Frequently asked questions: one question per page. In the app, the list only shows the questions that concern your role; the others can still be found by searching, marked "Owner only".
  • Error messages: one page per message shown by the app, saying why it appears and what to do. They are not listed: find them by searching for the message, word for word.
  • What Martialnote does not do: the product's limits.

Searching

  1. Open the menu, then Help.
  2. Type a question, a keyword or the error message shown into the search field.
  3. Tap a result to open it.

The search ignores accents and capitals, and every word typed must appear in the page. The most relevant results come first (title, then other ways of asking the question, then text). At most 30 results are shown: refine the search if there are too many. What you type stays on the device: it is neither sent nor recorded.

A help page

  • The title, the role or roles involved and the date of the last update.
  • Open this screen goes straight to the screen the page is about, when it opens without first choosing a student or a class, and your role has access to it.
  • Links to other help pages and the See also list stay in the app.
  • The back arrow returns to Help.

The help loads over the network: without a network, the screen shows "The help could not be loaded." and a Retry button; the support address stays visible.

Writing to support

As a last resort, at the bottom of the Help screen: support is by email only, at bonjour@martialnote.com. No chat, no phone, no form in the app, and no guaranteed response time.

  1. Tap Write to bonjour@martialnote.com. The device's email app opens with the subject "Martialnote — " followed by the school's name. If no email app is set up, nothing opens: write to the address shown from any email service.
  2. Include the screen involved (its title, for example "Students"), what you did step by step and the message shown, word for word.

Rules:

  • Write from your Martialnote account's address (it is shown on the screen): support can then find the school without further details. An email from another address is handled, but support may ask you to confirm from the account's address before doing anything to the school.
  • Never send information about students (health, contact details, date of birth): the screen's name is enough.
  • An instructor can write to support with a question about using the app. A request about the school itself (closing it, deleting an account, payment, refund) must come from the owner.
  • Closing the school, deleting an account and asking for the first payment's refund are done by this email (see the product's limits and the Payment article).

Didn't find your answer?

Write to bonjour@martialnote.com from your account's address, saying which screen is involved and the message shown. Support is by email only, with no guaranteed response time. Never send information about your students.
