How do I record a belt, an honorary rank or a ceremony?

For a belt or a grade of the school's system, use grades: the owner awards them from a student's Progression (Award: {grade} or Award another grade), provided the curriculum has a grade system (see the Grades article).

For an honorary distinction or a ceremony that is not a grade of the system, use a milestone: on a student's Progression, tap Add a milestone, write a Title (at most 120 characters, e.g. "Year-end demonstration"), an optional note, then save. Both the owner and the instructor can add one.

• A milestone appears in the Journal with its date and author; it changes neither the current grade nor the next grade.
• Only the milestone's author or the owner can edit it or move it to the trash; it can be restored for 30 days from the Trash.
