For a kung fu school
A kung fu program stretches over years, often with several weapons and several lineages. Keeping track of it from memory does not last long.
What your school has to keep
Empty-hand and weapon forms, stances, techniques, and sometimes the same forms in lineage variants. On top of that comes the question that returns every class: who is where? A student changing groups, a newcomer arriving with prior training, an old student back after two years: each case calls for quickly finding where the person stood.
- Empty-hand and weapon forms.
- Stances, techniques, applications.
- Students who change groups or return after a break.
- Several lineages in the same school.
What Martialnote does for this style
The program is described in categories — forms, techniques, weapons — and each item is tied to a rank or left free. A student can follow two curricula at once if your school teaches several lineages, and the attendance sheet shows each person's next step. Ranks, sashes or belts, are optional: a school that works without them can follow the program as it is.
- One curriculum per lineage, if needed.
- Categories and items in your order.
- The next step, visible in the class sheet.
- Optional ranks: sashes, belts, or none.
The starting Kung-fu program
When the school is created, Martialnote offers the “Traditional kung-fu, foundations” template. Every item can be renamed, moved or removed; the categories are: {Fs}, Techniques, Weapons.

Ranks
A rank template is offered as a starting point, with no official character: it describes a common usage, which your school renames and recolours freely. Promotion conditions — age, months of practice, attendance — are set per rank.
- Kung fu sashes — Sashes
- Duan wei — Eagle · beginner, Tiger · intermediate, Dragon · advanced
