The trial period
Who: every school; the information is for the owner and instructors. The trial period is automatic: it requires nothing on your part.
Every new school starts with a trial period. It limits only what leaves Martialnote, never the work in the app. A legitimate school can therefore do everything from day one: import its students, create its groups and schedule, take attendance, manage subscriptions, fees, progression and grades, and export its data.
What the trial period limits
- Messages: at most 50 addresses per day. A message that goes over that number, or that contains a link, is held and reviewed before it is sent (see "Held messages").
- Instructor invitations: at most 3 per day. Beyond that, the invitation is held and reviewed before it is sent.
- Reading names from a photo: at most 10 photos per school over 24 hours, instead of 50. This lower limit protects Martialnote from abuse and helps keep free access for small schools; 10 pages are usually enough to import a whole list on day one. Spreadsheet import has no such limit.
- Help assistant (Help screen): at most 5 questions per school over 24 hours, instead of 20. Searching the help has no limit (see the Help article).
Those are the only trial-period limits. They are the same for everyone.
What the trial period does not limit
Import, groups, schedule, sessions, attendance, families and parents, subscriptions, over plan, fees, progression, grades, trash and export: everything works normally and with no waiting. Export stays possible at any time, even during a suspension.
How long it lasts
The trial period lasts at least 14 days and ends with real activity: at least 3 sessions with attendance taken, on 3 different dates. The school then becomes a trusted school automatically, with no email and nothing to do. The Martialnote team can also approve a school earlier, and the first payment has the same effect.
Held messages
During the trial period, a message that goes over the daily limit or contains a link is held instead of being sent. A message is also held when the school is being verified, suspended, or when its message sending is paused.
- The preview then says "This message will be reviewed before sending (less than 24 h)." and the button becomes Send for review.
- The history shows "Awaiting review".
- A held message is reviewed in less than 24 h: it is sent, or refused.
- With no decision after 7 days, it is refused automatically and the history shows "Not sent".
Nothing is lost: the message and its text are kept during the review. An email that has been sent cannot be recalled or edited.
A trusted school sends normally, with no holding: its messages go out within the next few minutes, within Martialnote's daily volume (the surplus goes out the next day).
The school being verified
If many schools are created the same day, a new school may be put under verification before it can send anything. It can prepare everything; only sign-in links go out. A banner says so: "Your school is being verified. You can prepare everything; emails will go out after verification (less than 24 h)." Verification takes less than 24 h.
